Germetex®Prism is a self–adhesive sealing butyl rubber strip with a fully working surface. It is used for sealing, waterproofing and gluing two surfaces in construction, mechanical engineering, instrumentation, etc.
It is operable in the temperature range from – 60 ° C to + 100 °C.
Technical characteristics of Germetex® Prism tapes
• Penetration, 0.1 mm 30-100
• Water absorption, 24 hours, %, not more than 0.3
• Yield strength, mm, at t =60 °C, 24 h, not less than 2.0
• Bond strength at separation from concrete, Mpa, not less than 0.1
• Vapor permeability, mg/(m•h•Pa), not more than 0.01
• Tensile strength, MPa, not less than 0.1 in the transverse direction
• Dimensions, diameter 3-50 mm
The method of application of Germetex® Prism
Before using Germetex® Prism the working surface of the joint must be cleaned from dust and dirt with a rag, dried from moisture, and in winter from ice, snow, frost. When working with the prism, it is necessary to remove the anti-adhesive coating, apply it to the work surface and roll it so that the surface is solid without breaks and violations of the sealing layer. Next, if there is a node in the design, attach the second part.
Transportation and storage
Germetex® Prism is transported by any type of transport in conditions that ensure its protection from the effects of atmospheric precipitation, mechanical damage; it is packed in corrugated boxes. They are stored in dry warehouses at any air temperature. If the prism is stored at an air temperature below 0 °C, then it must be kept warm (+20°C) before use indoors during the day. During loading and unloading, it is prohibited to throw and tilt containers with Prism.
